Why WebinarJam Video Downloader

WebinarJam delivers webinar content through its own hosted pages using adaptive streaming, which means there is no download button or right-click save option for attendees. Replay links are often time-limited, expiring after a set number of days or views, and once a replay window closes the recording becomes inaccessible. Hosts can restrict replays entirely, leaving attendees with no way to revisit valuable training material or presentations.

WebinarJam Video Downloader is being designed to operate inside the browser tab where the webinar plays. The extension will detect the active video stream on a WebinarJam session page, let you initiate a capture, and produce a standard MP4 file stored on your hard drive rather than locked behind an expiring replay link or a platform login.

Planned Features

  • Video capture from live WebinarJam sessions and recorded replays
  • Full-session recording including presentation slides and speaker video
  • Support for automated webinar funnels and evergreen replay pages
  • Resolution selection based on what the WebinarJam player delivers to the browser
  • Progress indicator showing capture status and estimated completion time
  • Filename generation using webinar title and date for easy organization
  • Browser-native operation with no external recording tools or desktop apps required
  • Cross-browser compatibility targeting Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Firefox

How It Will Work

  • Install the extension once it is released.
  • Open the WebinarJam session page or replay link in your browser.
  • Complete any registration steps required to access the webinar room.
  • Let the webinar video begin playing in the browser tab.
  • Open the extension popup to see the detected video stream.
  • Select the session you want to capture from the stream list.
  • Choose your preferred resolution if multiple quality levels are available.
  • Start the download and save the MP4 file to your local machine.

Expected Formats

  • Input: WebinarJam video streams (HLS / adaptive bitrate delivered through the browser player)
  • Output: MP4 video file with synchronized audio

Exported files will be saved as MP4, the most widely supported video format, compatible with media players, video editors, mobile devices, and cloud storage services.

Who It's For

  • Webinar attendees who want a permanent copy of sessions they registered for
  • Online course students saving training webinars for later review and note-taking
  • Marketing professionals archiving product launch and demo webinars
  • Sales teams capturing recorded pitches and prospect-facing presentations
  • Business owners preserving their own hosted webinar content as local backups

Use Cases We're Building For

  • Save a training webinar before the replay link expires after its limited viewing window
  • Archive an automated evergreen webinar for internal team reference
  • Keep a local copy of a product demo presented during a live session
  • Capture a guest speaker presentation for offline review during travel
  • Build a personal library of industry webinars and educational sessions

Security & Scope

  • Operates only on the page the user intentionally opens in the active browser tab
  • Detects supported playback sources only for user-initiated downloads or exports
  • Does not execute page instructions, shell commands, or arbitrary scripts from page content
  • Does not follow unrelated links or perform actions outside the active workflow
  • Limits support to the named platform, approved embedded contexts, and user-authorized sessions when required

FAQ

When will WebinarJam Video Downloader be released?

A release date has not been set. Sign up at the waitlist link above to be notified as soon as it is available.

Will it work with the WebinarJam mobile app?

No. This extension is built for WebinarJam sessions viewed in a desktop or laptop browser, not through a mobile application.

What video quality will it support?

Quality will depend on what WebinarJam delivers to the browser player, which can vary based on the host's broadcast settings and your internet connection speed.

Will it capture chat and interactive elements?

The initial version is focused on the video and audio stream. Chat logs, polls, and other engagement elements are not part of the planned video capture at this stage.

Is it free?

Pricing details will be announced closer to launch. SERP extensions typically include a free trial period.

Can I download a webinar replay after the live event ends?

Yes, as long as the replay page is still accessible in your browser, the extension will be able to detect and capture the video stream from it.

About WebinarJam

WebinarJam is a webinar hosting platform built for live broadcasts, automated webinar funnels, and session replays. It provides hosts with registration pages, attendee engagement tools such as polls and live chat, and time-limited replay capabilities. While the platform offers robust delivery for presenters, attendees have no built-in option to download or save webinar recordings as local video files. WebinarJam Video Downloader is being built to fill that gap for users who want a permanent, offline copy of webinar sessions they have access to through registration or replay links.
