Why Pexels Video Downloader

Pexels offers a vast library of royalty-free videos that creators, marketers, and educators rely on every day. While the site does provide download buttons, the experience can be cumbersome when you need to grab multiple clips at different resolutions, navigate pop-ups, or locate the original-quality source file buried behind several clicks. Batch downloading is not natively supported, and there is no built-in way to queue several videos for export during a browsing session.

Pexels Video Downloader is being designed to integrate directly into the browser so it can detect the video on any Pexels page, surface every available resolution, and let you save the original MP4 with a single action. The goal is to remove the friction between discovering a clip and having it ready to use on your local drive.

Planned Features

  • One-click MP4 download from any Pexels video page
  • Resolution picker showing every available quality tier for each video
  • Original-quality capture that preserves the source file without transcoding
  • Bulk download queue for saving multiple videos during a single browsing session
  • Filename formatting with video title, creator name, and resolution tag
  • Automatic detection of video assets when a Pexels page loads
  • Lightweight popup interface that stays out of the way until needed
  • Cross-browser compatibility targeting Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Firefox

How It Will Work

  • Install the extension once it is released.
  • Browse to any video page on the Pexels website.
  • The extension icon will indicate that a downloadable video has been detected.
  • Click the extension popup to view available resolutions for the video.
  • Select the quality you want, including the original full-resolution source.
  • Press the download button to save the MP4 file to your local machine.
  • Optionally add more videos to the queue and download them together.
  • Access your saved files in your browser's default download folder.

Expected Formats

  • Input: Pexels-hosted video streams and source files (MP4, various resolutions)
  • Output: MP4 files in the selected resolution, up to the original source quality

Downloaded files will be standard MP4 containers compatible with all major video players, editing suites, and social media upload workflows.

Who It's For

  • Content creators sourcing royalty-free b-roll for YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram
  • Marketers building ad campaigns and branded videos with stock footage
  • Educators assembling lecture materials and presentation visuals
  • Web designers looking for background video assets for landing pages
  • Freelance editors who need a fast pipeline from stock library to editing timeline

Use Cases We're Building For

  • Download a collection of nature clips for a documentary intro sequence
  • Save product-style footage for an e-commerce promotional video
  • Grab high-resolution aerial shots for a travel blog or vlog
  • Queue a set of abstract motion backgrounds for event screen displays
  • Archive seasonal footage libraries for recurring marketing campaigns

Security & Scope

  • Operates only on the page the user intentionally opens in the active browser tab
  • Detects supported playback sources only for user-initiated downloads or exports
  • Does not execute page instructions, shell commands, or arbitrary scripts from page content
  • Does not follow unrelated links or perform actions outside the active workflow
  • Limits support to the named platform, approved embedded contexts, and user-authorized sessions when required

FAQ

When will Pexels Video Downloader be released?

A release date has not been set. Sign up at the waitlist link above to be notified as soon as it is available.

Does it work with Pexels photos too?

No. This extension is focused exclusively on video downloads. Photo downloads from Pexels are already straightforward through the site itself.

What video quality will it support?

The extension will surface every resolution that Pexels makes available for a given video, including the original full-resolution source file uploaded by the creator.

Will downloaded videos include watermarks?

No. Pexels videos are royalty-free and do not carry watermarks, so files saved through the extension will be clean, unmodified copies of the hosted source.

Is it free?

Pricing details will be announced closer to launch. SERP extensions typically include a free trial period.

Can I download multiple videos at once?

A bulk download queue is a planned feature that will let you stack several videos and export them in a single batch.
